A man was taken into custody after multiple fires Wednesday in the North Hollywood area.
One of those fires at an abandoned commercial building caused extensive damage. As flames engulfed the building, the roof partially collapsed and firefighters went into defensive mode, FoxLA reported.
In addition to the building, they also responded to a car fire less than a mile away. Dumpsters also were set ablaze, fire officials reported, adding crews handled eight fires in an hour.
There were no injuries.
